Meet Michelle Heins

Life is full of change and stress. At one time or another, we have all struggled to cope with these things. Sometimes it may feel overwhelming trying to balance all the demands — let’s be honest, life can be messy! You don’t have to go through it alone.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) with more than 15 years experience, I have worked with adults focusing on substance use, dual diagnosis, pregnant/postpartum women, self-esteem, and relationship issues. I am passionate about helping clients navigate through the bumps on their journey and grow into who they desire/strive to be.

Let's navigate through it all together — with laughter, tears, venting, and maybe some cursing (sometimes it’s just needed!)

Who I help?

It takes courage to seek out therapy. Individuals with concerns surrounding substance use, depression, anxiety, self-esteem and relationship issues are those I feel best suited to assist. I also work with those struggling with pregnancy, grief and trauma — which many times can overlap. Let me help support you through these challenges to achieve a happier and healthier life. I am passionate about helping you navigate your self-growth journey — through the mess and into the sunshine!

What can You Expect?

Therapy is about self-exploration and I am dedicated to creating a safe, judgment-free environment for my clients to share their thoughts and feelings. My approach is client-centered, and I tailor treatment specifically to your needs and comfort level. With your permission, I will challenge you and provide feedback as we work together.

Let’s build a positive therapeutic relationship. I will meet you where you are and create a supportive space for self-exploration and growth — where it is safe for you to just be YOU!

When I am not at AMW then you will find me

Outside basking in the sunshine, going for a run to clear my head, curled up with a good book, enjoying family time and my children's laughter, dancing while blasting music, and experiencing new adventures big and small.
